Once again, I want to thank so many of you for supporting me with your vote to be reelected to the Board of the NRA for another three-year term. I take the position of being a Board member of the nation’s oldest civil rights organization seriously. Why? It’s simple: the oath that I took to the US Constitution on July 31, 1982, still stands, until the day I die. An important part of our Constitution, our rule of law, is the Second Amendment. It was just last week that we remembered the “shot fired heard ’round the world”, when armed Americans, Patriots, stood on Lexington Green, 19 April 1775 . . . they said no.
They said no to a tyrannical government, Great Britain, that sent troops to disarm and destroy an armaments factory in Concord Massachusetts. Before we even had a Nation, we were embracing the individual right to keep and bear arms. Before we were a Nation, we knew that an armed person, individual, is a citizen, free, but an unarmed one is a subject. It was that moment, 19 April 1775 that we here in these United States of America committed ourselves to be free…and those rights, freedoms, and liberties that we hold dear are maintained by an informed, and yes, armed citizenry.
As we gather in Indianapolis, it is vital that the National Rifle Association recommit itself to its core competencies, its established mission, tasks, and purpose of existence. The NRA is a target, but the NRA does not need to inflict its own wounds, create its own issues, problems. I have received text messages, emails, and phone calls from my close friends, and some random Members, who want, desire, important changes and reforms to the NRA. I am committed to making that happen. And I promise you that as a Board Member of the National Rifle Association that we will rectify our organizational issues, and leadership challenges, to ensure the NRA is responsive to you, our Members, and not become a self-licking ice cream cone.
Why must we reform and refocus the National Rifle Association, and why must we do it now?
As reported by Fox News:
“Sen. Kamala Harris on Monday night pledged that, if elected president, she will sign a series of executive orders on gun control if Congress fails to pass comprehensive legislation in her first 100 days in the Oval Office.
During a town hall hosted by CNN, Harris said that if a bill from Congress did not make it to her desk, she would unilaterally mandate background checks for customers purchasing a firearm from any dealer who sells more than five guns a year. Dealers who violate the law, she said, would have their licenses revoked.
The other executive orders would prohibit fugitives from purchasing a firearm or weapon, as well as close the loophole that allows some domestic abusers to purchase a firearm if their victim is an unwedded partner.
“There are people in Washington, D.C., supposed leaders,” Harris said, “who have failed to have the courage to reject a false choice which suggests you’re either in favor of the second amendment or you want to take everyone’s guns away.”
She continued, “we need reasonable gun safety laws in this country, starting with universal background checks and a renewal of the assault weapon ban, but they have failed to have the courage to act.”
It is not just California Senator Harris’ affirmation. We shared with y’all the words of Speaker Nancy Pelosi who alluded to a Democrat president declaring a national emergency on gun violence to implement gun control measures.
Another Democrat presidential candidate, California Rep. Eric Swalwell is running on a gun control platform. He has openly stated that he would implement a mandatory gun “buy back” program, meaning weapon confiscation. Anyone not participating in his mandated program will be criminally prosecuted. Swalwell even referred to using “nukes” on law-abiding, legal American firearms owners.
Anyone see a pattern here? All three of these chuckleheads are from California, a state being overrun with criminal illegal immigrants . . . a declared sanctuary state for illegal immigrants. Shall I remind you of the deaths of Officer Ronil Singh, Kate Steinle, and Jamiel Shaw Jr., all killed by criminal illegal immigrants, or illegal immigrant gang members? All three live in a State with horrific restrictive gun control laws.
This is why we need, at this critical juncture, a strong purposeful NRA that will go on the offense against the scourge of progressive socialism. We need an NRA to ensure that the Second Amendment shall not be infringed. We need to send a message to the tyrannical leftists in America that their ideological agenda is not how we define law in America. The Second Amendment is law, and we do not need law-abiding American citizens to be assailed, disarmed, by these socialists. If need be, we must band together and create a new Civil Rights movement of non-compliance . . . or else.
Remember, it was socialist dictator Hugo Chavez who, back in June of 2012, used the excuse of gun violence to ban private gun ownership. In other words, that was the day the people of Venezuela went from being citizens to subjects. And, it is why today, we are watching innocent Venezuelans gunned down in the streets, slaughtered like sheep.
This is the model of socialism throughout history. Socialism is not a governing philosophy that people are willing to just accept, safe for the mindless lemmings and useful idiots. Freedom and liberty-loving people will never surrender their rights to an intrusive government structure. Socialism only works, can be implemented by threat, coercion, intimidation, mandate, and yes, violence. Socialism, and its end objective, communism, has been responsible for tens of millions of once free people being wantonly killed.
This shall not happen on our watch — certainly not mine — and I pray you accept that challenge, as well.
That is why the time is now to fight for the restoration of the National Rifle Association (NRA) as the preeminent defender of the Second Amendment in America. Let us not forget that when the GOP took action to free those who look like me in the mid-1800s, it was the Democrat Party that founded the Ku Klux Klan to threaten, intimidate, and commit heinous acts of violence against blacks. And it was the National Rifle Association (NRA) that stood, took the side of freedom, and ensured the Second Amendment right was granted to free blacks, former slaves. Heck, listening to these cackling clowns like Harris, Pelosi, and Swalwell, reminds me that nothing has changed about the party of the jackass.
Yes, I am the National Rifle Association, and I am freedom’s safest place. I guarantee you that after this NRA Annual Meeting and Convention, and ensuing Board meeting, you will have an NRA that will protect our way of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. You will have an NRA that is not about individuals and their greed, corrupt behaviors, and disregard of its members. You will indeed have an NRA that will fight, relentlessly, and crush the folks who have always been an enemy of liberty, freedom, and our individual right to keep and bear arms . . . that shall not be infringed. We are going to take the fight to them and force them to surrender to our rule of law, our Constitution . . . and the supporting Supreme Court decisions such as Heller v DC and McDonald v City of Chicago.
The ideological agenda of the progressive socialist left and their goal of totalitarian, ideological domination ends . . . and it ends at your feet, the Members of the National Rifle Association.
