Ideology Over Quality of Life for America

In Culture, Front Page, Mental Health by Allen WestLeave a Comment

In November, Democrat Party won control of the US House of Representatives. What enabled Nancy Pelosi to win back the gavel as the Speaker of the House were so-called moderate Democrats who won in GOP congressional, or purple, districts. The message of these twenty-some-odd individuals who won did not center on a far left progressive socialist ideological agenda, but that, so far, is what we’ve gotten.

There is a simple question to ask, namely, what are House Democrat [socialist] priorities, as we have seen in these early days of their rule? Well, the Heritage Foundation has shined a light on one of its priorities, and it is not about the quality of life of the American people.

As reported by the Heritage Foundation:

“On Wednesday, March 13, Nancy Pelosi introduced the so-called Equality Act, a bill that would add “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” as protected classes under federal civil rights law. Where the original Civil Rights Act of 1964 further equality by ensuring that African-Americans had equal access to public accommodations and material goods, the Equality Act would further inequality by penalizing everyday Americans for their beliefs about marriage and biological sex. Similar sexual orientation and gender identity laws at the state and local level have already been used in this way.”

What the House Democrats [socialists] are embarking upon is making chosen behavior a protected class. And yes, let’s all agree that sexuality is a behavior. As well, gender dysphoria is deemed a mental condition, so the progressive socialist left now wants to establish a mental condition as a civil right, a protected class. All of this is happening because the House Democrats [socialists] are not focused, prioritizing, improving the quality of life for the American people. Nah, they are solely focused on mandating their ideological agenda.

The interesting thing is that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 — which would not have passed if it were not for Senate Republicans led by Everett Dirksen — was a positive act. What Nancy Pelosi and her ilk seek to implement is a punitive act, and they aim to destroy anyone that does not agree with the LGBTQ ideological agenda, which is part of the Democrat [socialist] agenda. It should be clear to comprehend, and I am offended when the comparison is made.

Being black is a race, not a behavior, or something that I can easily change, as my desires and emotions dictate. Sexuality — who you are attracted to — is a learned behavior and can change as easily as one chooses. For example, Senator Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona is an avowed bisexual woman. Does Speaker Pelosi’s Equality Act cover her sexuality, her sexual behavior choices? Sure, perhaps I can “self-identify” as white, but that absurdity would be undermined by the fact that I am still black, and any identification form I fill out, unlike Rachel Dolezal, would have to be black, not Hispanic.

Here is what Pelosi wants to do: punish anyone that does not subjugate, cower, and acquiesce to the progressive socialist left agenda. The Heritage Foundation brings up some examples where we should be concerned.

“The Equality Act would force employers and workers to conform to new sexual norms or else lose their businesses and jobs.  This is already happening on the state and local level.  The most high-profile example involves Colorado baker Jack Phillips, whose case went all the way to the Supreme Court after the Colorado Civil Rights Commission accused him of discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation when he declined to create a custom cake for a same-sex wedding. He is not the only victim. Other cases involving disagreement over the meaning of marriage feature florists, bakers, photographers, wedding venue owners, videographers, web designers, calligraphers, and public servants. Now citizens are being punished for their views on biological sex.”

“Take Peter Vlaming [we have mentioned him on our site]. This high school French teacher was dismissed under the school’s anti-discrimination policy after he refused to comply with administrators’ orders to use a female student’s preferred masculine pronouns. Vlaming had tried to accommodate the student by avoiding pronouns altogether and addressing the student by their preferred masculine name, but this was deemed insufficient by the school board.”

“The Equality Act would force hospitals and insurers to provide and pay for these therapies against any moral or medical objections. It would politicize medicine by forcing professionals to act against their best medical judgment and provide transition-affirming therapies. The fight is already here. Catholic hospitals in California and New Jersey have been sued for declining to perform hysterectomies on otherwise healthy women who want to become male. A third Catholic hospital in Washington settled out of court when the ACLU sued them for declining to perform a double mastectomy on a gender dysphoric sixteen-year-old girl.”

“This politicization of medicine would ultimately harm families by normalizing hormonal and surgical interventions for gender dysphoric children as well as ideological “education” in schools and other public venues. 80 to 95 percent of children with gender dysphoria no longer feel distressed by their bodies after puberty. Yet activists continue to push their own radical protocol: social transition as young as 4, puberty-blocking drugs as young as 9, cross-sex hormones as young as 14, and surgery by 18 (or, in some cases, even younger). This protocol could become mandatory in the future. The latest issue of the American Journal of Bioethics includes an article arguing that the state should overrule the parents of gender dysphoric children who do not consent to giving them puberty-blocking drugs. Here in Coppell, Texas, a father is fighting to not have his six-year-old son chemically castrated in two years.”

This House Democrat [Socialist] majority deems as a priority? Remember, socialism can only survive by way of coercion, threat, intimidation, mandate, and if necessary, violence. Just as always, the purpose of the Equality Act has nothing to do with equality, but rather forcing compliance with the left’s ideological agenda.

Up to this point, the House Democrat [socialist] majority has passed legislation to allow illegal immigrants . . . oops, “newcomers” to vote in our elections. They have passed legislation to increase restrictions on legal, law-abiding American firearms owners, undermining the Second Amendment. The left wants to make it a felony for someone like me to gift a firearm to a family member or friend. Yet the same leftists have no problem with an illegal immigrant — dang it, “newcomer” — seeking to purchase a firearm.

The left wants to destroy the American economy by way of the insidious plan called the Green New Deal, yeah, no more motorcycle rides for me. And, has anyone heard about the House Democrat [socialists] creating a budget? Ahh, who needs it? They just want to print money to pay for all of their delusional policies and programs, like the Green New Deal.

Hey folks, this is what was voted for, and, of course, the Equality Act has no chance of passing the US Senate or being signed into law. However, what the Equality Act does evidence, furthermore, are the abjectly totalitarian policies of the Democrat [socialist] Party.

If they have their way with the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, this is the direction they will take America. If you disagree or do not comply, you will be punished, criminally.

There is nothing equal about the Equality Act, if anything, it is the official termination of our first liberty, the freedom of religion and the free exercise thereof. Hey, all you wimpy pastors who hang out with these Democrat [socialists] . . . choose for yourselves this day, whom you shall serve?
