One of the great things about America — at least I thought so — was that we could have disagreements yet be respected for such. I often state that when tolerance becomes a one-way street, it leads to cultural suicide.
I just continue to be amazed at how the progressive socialist left deinigrates, demeans, and disparages anyone who does not acquiesce to their ideological agenda. Case in point, I believe that marriage is a sacred bond between one man and one woman. I support civil unions for non-traditional relationships and do not disparage anyone for whom they choose to love.
I believe that the government should not try to legislate relationships as we all have unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I believe that murdering unborn babies should not be considered a means of birth control. I do not support individuals suffering from a mental condition called gender dysphoria serving in our armed services, and have articulated the facts bearing upon that assessment.
My concern is that it appears that having beliefs contrary to the ideological agenda of the progressive socialist left is now defined as hatred.
I could go on and discuss how believing in our national sovereignty means you are racist and xenophobic. Well, actually, everything anyone does in opposition to progressive socialists is racist, sexist, or something.
There is a wholehearted movement towards ideological domination by the left. May I remind you, it was Hillary Clinton who stated that there can only be civility if “they” are in control, in power?
Is that what we truly want in America? I mean seriously, the same folks who talk about diversity ad nauseum, are the ones who want no diversity of opinions, thoughts, ideas, insights, or perspectives. And, yes, we have another example of such.
As reported by Townhall:
“TV producer Ryan Murphy, who’s known for his work overseeing “Glee,” “American Horror Story” and “Pose,” announced the launch of a new campaign initiative to oust “anti-LGBT” incumbents from Congress. During Sunday night’s TrevorLive gala in Los Angeles, Murphy told the audience “Pose Gives Back,” will work to elect pro-LGBT candidates.
“In 2020, I’m going to create and fund, with corporate sponsorship, a multi-million dollar organization that targets anti-LGBTQ candidates running for office,” Murphy told the audience, NewNowNext reported. “Senate and congressional candidates who think they can get votes hurting and discriminating against us—well, we can get votes too.”
Specifically, Murphy wants to see Republicans Steve King and Susan Collins voted out in the near future.
“I want these hateful and wrong politicians to go, and to stop polluting our moral and ethical ether,” Murphy explained.
He then explained why he decided to launch the “Pose Gives Back” campaign initiative.
“It was the midterms this year that gave me hope. One after one, anti-LGBTQ candidates who made hate speech and ideology part of their legacy fell, disgraced and eliminated by Democratic candidates— who were largely boosted by victory by young and female voters, by the way,” Murphy explained. “The number was astounding to me, as a 54-year-old man. Over 20 anti—LGBTQ right-wing politicians and their horrifying views gone in a day.”
“We are going to send a message which says you cannot make discrimination against us a political virtue anymore. You can’t keep killing our vulnerable young people by promoting and nationalizing your rural, close-minded anti-constitutional viewpoints,” Murphy said.”
I think Mr. Murphy is rather delusional in his assertions. Take, for instance, saying that people are making discrimination a political virtue. What I think he is advocating for is the elevation of certain special interest group “rights” over the rights established in our Constitution. We all have freedom of speech and expression, and it is not discriminatory to not believe as others do.
I find his comment about “killing our vulnerable young people” quite disingenuous, as I am quite sure Mr. Murphy supports “abortion on demand” and probably late-term abortion procedures which are nothing more than infanticide. I am sure Mr. Murphy has no issue supporting an organization like Planned Parenthood that was founded by a hater of my race, my people, and has been successful in ending the lives of nearly 18M black babies.
What is most disturbing about Mr. Murphy is his apparent elitist perspective. For him to use such divisive language as “nationalizing your rural, close-minded anti-constitutional viewpoints,” is a window into his true sense of discrimination: against those he deems as ignorant, uneducated rubes living away from urban settings.
I suppose he has little tolerance for those Americans in what has come to be called “flyover country.” I wonder what Mr. Murphy would think of me, an educated (two Masters degrees), black, classical liberal who studies the Constitution and embraces social conservative viewpoints?
And, speaking of anti-constitutional, that US Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges was unconstitutional. The enumerated power of Article III, courts, including the Supreme Court, is to interpret the law, not make law. Therefore, five of nine unelected jurists cannot make a law in these United States of America. We are still a Constitutional Republic. However, I can understand Mr. Murphy’s angst, as he probably believes that courts exist to implement the ideological agenda of the progressive socialist left.
Mr. Ryan Murphy represents all that is wrong with America and the progressive socialist leftist elitists. Here we thought the GOP was the party of the rich and elite? Here is a man, Murphy, who believes his wealth entitles him to force us ignorant rascals to succumb to his ideological beliefs, just like billionaire Michael Bloomberg uses his resources to undermine our Second Amendment rights.
How did we get to the point where elites use their resources to force individual subjugation by way of electoral manipulation? Hmm, anyone who wants to talk about the influence of private monies in elections, feel free to comment.
What is sad is that here in America, we are facing this specter that castigates any ideological opposition to the dogma of the left as hatred. Disagreement is not hatred. And civility is not determined by ideological domination, that is called tyranny. And, Mr. Ryan Murphy plans to use his riches to aid and abet that end.
