Greetings, everyone! Welcome to our regular end of week bit of political respite that we call “Stuck on Stupid Saturday.” Now, I am sure there are many of you who have your recommendations for this week’s recognition. I had thought about dedicating Frank Sinatra’s “Come Fly with Me” to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, then perhaps the better song may have been the “Double Dutch Bus.” I also considered the two Freshmen Democrat Congresswomen, Rashida Tlaib and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, for their folly of marching over to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell office with a demanding that he hold a vote to reopen the government . . . a truly immature, petulant action.
Then there was the infamous BuzzFeed report that ended up being a really big double nothing burger, with cheese and bacon. To have watched all those leftist pundits and Democrats take to the TV screen was priceless, a real special kind of stupid moment. So, now this whole report — okay, fabrication — has been debunked and a statement issued by BuzzFeed. Will those same pundits and Democrats retract their statements about President Trump’s resignation and impeachment? Probably not, and folks, we are just, what, three weeks into the House Democrat rule?
Yes, I considered all the above, but the “winner winner, chicken dinner” for this week is close to home here in Texas. Yep, none other than ol’ Bob O’Rourke, who truly exposed himself as “stuck on stupid” this week and probably torpedoed his own quest to be on a presidential ticket. Good.
As reported by the Washington Examiner this week, with key translation bits provided by yours truly:
“Former Rep. Beto [Bob] O’Rourke, D-Texas, questioned the relevancy of the U.S. Constitution and the American experiment which began more than two centuries ago during a recent interview.
During an interview with the Washington Post, the potential 2020 contender was pressed on whether he believed the U.S. could reinvent how it approached divisive issues that have contributed to current political paralysis or whether he thought it was impossible for the country to introduce any reforms.
“I’m hesitant to answer [meaning I don’t know] it because I really feel like it deserves its due, and I don’t want to give you a — actually, just selfishly, I don’t want a sound bite of it reported, but, yeah, I think that’s the question of the moment: Does this still work?” O’Rourke replied. “Can an empire [America is a Constitutional Republic, not an empire] like ours with military presence in over 170 countries around the globe, with trading relationships … and security agreements in every continent, can it still be managed by the same principles that were set down 230-plus years ago?”
The former three-term congressman, while vehemently opposed to Trump’s calls for a border wall, could not provide the Post with a solution to stem the number of foreigners who illegally overstay their visas other than working more closely with Mexico to better monitor entries and departures.
“That’s an answer,” O’Rourke told the paper. “But that’s something that we should be debating.” [meaning, again, I have no clue or idea, so please stop asking me these hard questions]
And we thought Barack Obama was an empty suit?
We went through the woods with Obama who acclaimed in 2008, that we were five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States. Now we have another unaccomplished progressive socialist who doesn’t believe that the US Constitution is still relevant. What is so absurd is that here’s a fella who served three terms, six years, in the US House of Representatives, supposedly taking an oath to our Constitution . . . but he does not believe it still works?
C’mon America, let’s no longer evidence massive gullibility and offer any electoral patronage to such a charlatan, fake, phony, fraud, impostor. Okay, I get it, he skateboarded on stage, and once played bass guitar in a cross-dressing punk rock band. Sure, if you think that is cool, so be it, But, would you want a person to be president of these United States of America that believes that our rule of law, the Constitution, that has sustained the world’s longest running Constitutional Republic, is irrelevant?
This is what happens when we do not teach civics, our true history, instead of revisionist dogma. When we have institutions of indoctrination and no longer a system of education, we breed this level of incompetence.
Therefore, this week’s recipient of the Old School Patriot “Stuck on Stupid Saturday” recognition is none other than former Congressman Robert “Bob” Francis O’Rourke. A man operating under the delusion that he is running for president yet does not even embrace the very fabric of our nation: its Constitution.
Now that, folks, is truly stuck on stupid. But, what do we call those who would vote for ol’ Bob?
